Bird Watching at Carolina Memorial Sanctuary
When visiting the Sanctuary, one of the many things you may notice are the birds. We have lots! Their movements and songs fill the air around us. If you’ve ever wondered who our feathered neighbors are, join staff member Michele Skeele on a spring bird walk.
We meet in the parking lot at 8:30 am, binoculars in hand, to meet both resident birds and our seasonal visitors.
Besides her work in deathcare, Michele has a degree in Botany and has taught Wildflower Identification at Blue Ridge Community College. As a staff member at the Sanctuary, she brings decades of avid bird watching and an excitement to share her love of birds and their songs. Along the way, she can also answer questions about the plants that grace us with their presence in our varied habitats.
