Tending the Land at the Sanctuary
In addition to being a green cemetery, Carolina Memorial Sanctuary is a conservation site and public park with just over 11 acres of land. A lot of love and work is needed to help tend the land and the help of volunteers is important to maintaining the beauty and health of the Sanctuary. During the summer months, our land staff (we call them Stewards) plan workdays when volunteers can sign up to help with designated projects which could include continued removal of invasive species, tending to graves, clearing vines and shrubs away from the base of trees, and creating habitat brush piles for wildlife.
